Can't Keep Up

Evan is leaving me in the dust these days in so many ways. Literally, I can hardly keep up with his lightning fast crawl. He's down the driveway or into the next room before I know it. Or, he's standing holding on to the sofa one second and the next he's on the other side of the room standing by the table. He's a mobile little guy.

So far, I've held up both sides of the conversation for Evan and I but I think that is going to change soon too. He's signing and saying nurse ("durse"), signing "sleep", "more", "hello/goodbye" (just waving, but hey), and "eat". And he's saying "uh oh" at appropriate times...like when he drops something, for the millionth time.

Since Evan was born I've tried to journal to record each new change and development as they happen but now it seems there are several every day and I just can't keep up. He can scribble with a crayon, bring me a book that he wants me to read to him, play peek-a-boo, play with his shape sorter, play in the sandbox without just eating all the dirt. I could go on and on. Can you tell I'm a proud mama? : )

I can hardly believe he'll be one year old a week from tomorrow. Everyone tells you it goes by fast and it truly does.
