65th Birthday Party

Brothers
Hanging out with relatives in Duxbury, Mass. last weekend was a blast. After a bit of a long drive, Sister, Mom, Dad, Dahlia and I arrived just past ten and talked until after midnight.

Sleep was short, but restful in the boy barracks upstairs.

Dahlia was a dream in the car, just sleeping the whole time. Can Evan take some lessons? Where can I get me some of that car sleep?

Talked with Aunt Lisa about recorders and played some guitar with Uncle Doug.

Uncle Jack and I chewed the fat about being an adjunct at a small college. Yvette cooked and cooked, making sure everything was perfect (it was).

Rocco dodged my insistence that he call me next time he goes fishing in Ithaca.

Caitlin was under the weather and sipping chicken soup.

Cameron was stranded in an age bracket all by herself and did a laudable job exhausting Julianna.

wide eyed, mouthed

Later, on Saturday night, we dragged each other around the yard in a firewood cart and quizzed each other with some trivia cards.

Bob, Pam, Megan, Mark, Mom, and Sister all busied themselves with babies and Dad crowd surfed with his Treo, getting some good sibling time in along with information from the internet.

The Purcells maybe will come and visit us sometime, we think we can make it work.

I ran out of podcasts on the trip back and ended up listening to those Ben Folds Five albums I never got around to. My body was ready to leave the road after a 6.5 hour drive and I returned to Ithaca just in time for Sunday afternoon grilled cheese and a napping baby.

My favorite.
