Toying around at the skate park

Finally, after waiting WEEKS for a speed control that actually worked to arrive back from Horizon Hobby and then another few days because they didn't send back my motor mounting screws (and nobody carries that size screw in Ithaca), the Raminator is back in business.

Now it has a brushless motor, roughly a 100% increase in power. Note the ability it has now to actually jump the ramps. The stock version could barely make it to the top of them. The 100% increase also applies to its ability to strip the differential and engage the slipper clutch.

The more powerful battery (7.4v 180mah 2c lipo) also is really nice. The lipos don't have a discharge curve like the NiMH ones that just get weaker and weaker. Plus the more efficient engine and the extra capacity make for much longer runtimes than the stock battery.

Arriving with the motor screws and spare differential was a smaller pinion gear for the Desert Truck. This will allow us to more effectively do some of the backyard tooling around that Evan likes so much (like towing his larger toy trucks in the grass). hopefully a video of that to follow...

Fall Break O8!!!
